Whitehat SEO's UK pricing guide, updated in February 2026 and drawing on Ahrefs and SE Ranking surveys, gives these monthly ranges, excluding VAT.
| Type of business | Typical retainer |
|---|---|
| Local or start-up businesses | About £500 to £1,200 a month |
| Growing SMEs | About £1,500 to £3,000 a month |
| Mid-market companies | About £3,000 to £5,000 a month |
Our plans sit in the SME and lower mid-market bands, and include the age assurance and cookie checks adult sites need. The work behind each plan is set out on adult SEO in the UK, technical SEO, local SEO and ecommerce SEO.
| Door | Usual monthly work |
|---|---|
| Borough | Technical fixes specified and checked, one Business Profile kept current, a small number of key pages improved, a written monthly note |
| City | All of Borough, plus new category, product or location pages, guides where they are warranted, review and post routines, and a monthly call |
| Capital | All of City across several sites, premises or brands, with quarterly planning and a single named lead |
The first month carries more work than later ones, because it holds the visibility review findings and the first round of fixes, and we absorb that within the plan price.
Borough suits a single shop or site that needs its foundations put right: age check structure, cookies, indexing and one local profile. City suits a business whose foundations are sound and which wants steady growth from new pages and local work. Capital suits groups with several premises, brands or sites, where consistency and planning matter as much as any single page. Undecided? The free visibility review tends to answer the question, and if Borough would do the job, that is what we recommend.
Plans are charged monthly in pounds sterling, plus VAT, with payment due fourteen days after each invoice. On a set term, the reduced rate runs for the three, six or twelve months agreed and is payable for that whole period. Month to month, either side can end the plan with one month's written notice. Our terms of service set this out in full, under the laws of England and Wales.
